Fifteen hundred years ago, a mysterious culture vanishes from the Earth. As a clue to their disappearance, they left behind only the Nazca lines, countless shapes and figures etched in colossal proportion on the Peruvian desert’s face. Today, archeologists still fail to explain their significance.

Solomon is a water engineer in San Francisco, poised perfectly to enjoy the comforts promised by a life of long education, hard work, and self-sacrifice. But Solomon feels empty instead, trapped in society’s rat race and conscious of something more. And that’s before America verges on a cataclysmic race war, bombs a terrorist utopian nation, and is ravaged by a biological weapon that threatens the species’ survival.

One man makes a choice, to continue in his life’s meaningless routine or run away from it all. The only problem is to run away from one thing is to run towards something else.

Steve Rogoff is an author and family physician in Kauai. He enjoys Native American and Eastern philosophy, the comic ridiculousness of today’s world, and chronicling all of the insignificant trivialities whose disappearance or existence would change it all.
