About the Book

I had been writing since my first year in High School, it wasn’t until I was in the service that I began writing simple poems and short stories that my fellow soldiers enjoyed. But what they enjoyed the most were the poems that I wrote just from talking with them. This is how this book came to be. People would talk or I would hear a song, see a sight and I would write. The poems in this selection are just a sampling. Immerse yourself and enjoy the thoughts, words and deeds of these “Poems of Passion”.

About the Author

DERICK E. CLARK My hometown is New York City, New York and I was born in May of 1951. When I became of age, I joined the US Army and served for 30 years. Though I had been writing since my first year in High School, it wasn’t until I was in the service that I began writing simple poems and short stories that my fellow soldiers enjoyed. But what they enjoyed the most were the poems that I wrote just from talking with them. This is how this book came to be. People would talk or I would hear a song, see a sight and I would write.
