About the Book

The life was not easy for Don and his friends who unwillingly had to stop going to school and deal with a situation that created confusion and left them with so many unanswered questions. It was even harder for Don when he was forced to be separated from his dog Lucky who was as well a victim of the unusual circumstances. Without knowing how dangerous the situation was, Don and his friends started this mission searching for Lucky. Don had put his life in risk and faced so many barriers while attempting to reach his goal and yet he never gave up on his journey.

About the Author

Shukrije Pllana was born in Prishtina, the capital city of Kosova. She survived the troubles of 1999 in the former Yugoslavia by escaping with her husband and three children to Canada. In Prishtina she was a language teacher. She published two poems, a short story and a children’s play in Kosova. In Canada she published a poem in a student’s magazine at NorQuest College and a short story in an anthology called “Writing in the Margins”. The current work is her fi rst chapter children’s book. A notebook of her written work including poetry and a children’s play was lost when her home was burned during the war.
