About the Book
Courage the Cowardly Frog teaches young readers how frogs are born in the water and look like small wiggly minnows only without fins. As they grow they lose their tails and grow small back legs, then smaller front legs. Frogs are true amphibians and can live either on land or in the water. Courage crawled out of the water and forgot he was born there. To him the water looked like a dark, ominous place where he might drown if he jumped in. His mom named him “Courage” hoping that name would make him brave to go back into the pond. Read how Courage gets over his fears and enjoys sitting on a lily pad and singing with all the other frogs.
About the Author
Darrell Monroe was a radio and tv broadcaster in Dallas, Texas for many years after his honorable discharge from the USAF where he served as the USAF band vocalist and master of ceremonies. He formed a trio and played clubs, hotels and special parties in the Dallas area. Eventually his group grew to seven pieces and they were booked in Las Vegas playing the various lounges and hotels in that city. After a seven year run in Vegas they hit the road again and toured most of the lower 48 states. He continues to write music and record cds, as well as doing special performances. While watching a tv special on amphibians, he realized not many people were unfamiliar with how frogs began as tadpoles and looked like the small minnows rather than frogs. Thus “Courage the Cowardly Frog” was born.Undo
