Trouble Along the Rio Grande is the story of a young man and his friends during a time of Civil War and the French intervention in Mexico and accompanying cattle raids. It covers the period from the late 1850s to 1876 when the problem of the cattle raids is finally resolved.
About the Author
The author was born in McAllen, Texas, ten miles from the Rio Grande. In high school he became interested in the Civil War period along the Rio Grande, but he only started to write the novel after he retired from teaching history at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi. He holds a Ph.D. in history from the University of Texas in Austin.
