About the Book

Two night’s before Christmas Heber Falon, a wealthy Atlanta businessman was having his final Christmas party of the season at his home. The guests were mainly local politicians who had served him well over the past year. Their gifts consisted of envelopes stuffed with cash. To Dave Farrell’s surprise, he had received an invitation to attend the party as well, and for some odd reason he accepted it. Dave a noted civil rights activist and Heber Falon were archenemies. With the liquor flowing freely, and with good food and good conversation, Dave made the classic mistake of becoming complacent in the presence of his enemy, and it proved to be his undoing. Dave Farrell regained consciousness to the sound of a cuckoo clock somewhere in the darkened room. It had just struck mid-night. He had no idea where he was or how he got there. He lifted himself up from the floor, holding on to the back of an easy chair with one hand, trying to maintain his balance. He held a small 38-revolver in the other hand. Fear immediately gripped his heart. Dave hated guns and he new something was terribly wrong. Suddenly he had but one thought in mind, to get out of the house fast, and as far away as he could. He turned looking for the door; suddenly the room was flooded with light. To his horror the dead body of Maria Falon, wife of Heber Falon was lying at his feet. Dave’s nightmare had just begun. Falon and two of his goons entered the library and took pictures of Dave holding the revolver as he stood over Maria’s dead body. Heber Falon walked over to where Dave stood and took the gun from his hand. Dave knew his situation was desperate when he saw the smile on Falon’s face. “Dave old buddy, you just killed my wife! Now I’ve got your black ass cold!” Dave shouted, looking over his shoulder at the two goons behind him, then suddenly burst into uncontrollable laughter. Dave had been set up big time, and like a rat in a trap, he had no place to run.

About the Author

I was born in Nacogdoches, the oldest town in Texas, located in the heart of the East Texas piney woods, and lakes country. I have always been an avid reader of detective novels. My years in the army gave me plenty of time for that, soon I began to entertain the idea of becoming a private investigator after my discharge; but with the advent of the personal computer, I find writing about the exploits of my favorite fictional charters can be just as rewarding.
