About the Author

Authors Arthur Hill had a varied career as a university teacher, technical assistance administrator, and telecommunications executive. He lived and worked in Thailand and the Philippines for the Ford Foundation and in Western Samoa and Afghanistan for the United Nations. He retired from AT&T and settled in Southern California, where he was a volunteer writer for the Scripps Research Institute. Julie Hill, an Alexandrian Greek, traveled extensively with her husband all over the Asia region. She became an advocate of Asian peoples and their cultures. In these memoirs, she portrays that life and paints a broader picture of life as it was in those remarkable countries 30 years ago. Editor Jose Dalisay is an award-winning writer and teacher in the Philippines, the author of ten books and editor of many others.
