About the Book

Two golf pros travel Texas, playing in minor events and having humorous adventures, despite brawls, female encounters, and an accident involving the Rio Grande. The older Texas pro befriends a young Mexican one, who only dreams of his childhood sweetheart.

The book takes a serious turn with them going back to Alberto’s hometown for a run-in with the Mexican Mafia. Gunfire, fiestas, and romance ensue. Doren goes back to Texas to continue his footloose life. Alberto retrieves his girlfriend and returns with her to America to become a golf success story.

About the Author

The author spent his youth on a small ranch in Coleman County, Texas before graduating from Tarleton State University. After a career in sales, he retired and began a pursuit of a life-long desire to write professionally. This novel is the first attempt to scratch that itch in a major way and follows numerous poems, short stories and essays, with a prequel already started for this book. Watson is married with two grown sons and currently lives in Richmond, Texas outside Houston where he gets in an occasional round of golf with his wife and friends.
