About the Book

Myrna runs away from a miserable existence to find life.  She isn't looking for whatever it is she doesn't have; she just wants a life.  No matter how tough things have always been she remains mostly happy and optimistic. Out in the world for two frantic years of lovers and adventures, she finally meets Carl. She learns there really is such a thing as romantic love; better than the movies, better than books.

Carl owns the local newspaper in a small town in Oregon.  Though  he will not divorce his disabled wife, Myrna and Carl will share their lives. Bursting with previously un-released creative energy, Myrna can be all she was born to be. She wore a mask during her previous life, but now she can shed pretense in an environment of safety.  She creates a beautiful restaurant, becomes a comic monologist at the local road house, tries her hand at sleuthing after two murders, writes the social column for the newspaper, helps to create a theatre playhouse, designs and contracts her dream house and involves herself in the lives of the citizens of Sweet Brook Haven, Oregon.  With Carl's encouragement, she begins to write.  An actress friend calls in a promise once made to write a play for her. The play is a success and the music still goes round and round for Myrna.
