Taking place both in mountainous guerrilla territory and in the cities, where news reporters try to ferret out answers to increasingly urgent questions while surrounded by daily violence, Denizens is also a thoughtful and insightful portrayal of the contrasts, contradictions, and complexities of a nation of people trying to live ordinary lives in extraordinary times.
