About the Author

Katherine Prudeaux was born on November 25, 1933 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was the eleventh child of the twelve children of George and Louise Prudeaux. She attended Valena C. Jones public grammar school and attended Xavier Prep and St Mary’s Academy Catholic high schools. Katherine married her high school sweetheart and moved to Los Angeles, California. She and her husband, Joseph Chapman, had five children. Their children are Lisa, Rosalind, David, Eric and Stuart. Katherine continued her education while being a homemaker. She attended West Los Angeles College,Chaffey College and Crest Institute. She also had a varied working career in banking, accounting, real estate and notary. Katherine was actively involved in her church, St Brigid’s Catholic Church in Los Angeles. She sang in the choir and was a member of The Women’s Auxiliary of the Knights of Peter Claver. She participated in political service being the Block Captain for the Democratic Party. She was actively involved in community services as a member and treasurer of the Jefferson Council, an organization that raised money to provide scholarships for dis- advantaged children. Katherine is presently retired and enjoying her senior years in Elk Grove, California.
