About the Book
Mark is a troubled high school student on the edge of despair. His school and family problems have reached a boiling point. His brother, a successful high school quarterback, is receiving all the attention from their father, leaving Mark plunging deeper into depression. Troubling images and ghostly apparitions begin to terrorize the quiet visits to Mark’s childhood park. He begins to learn from these visions and thinks a relationship might be what he needs to put his problems behind him. He quickly finds that dating Lynn, a girl from the poor side of town, might give him more than he bargained for, and that love sometimes comes too late. Tom, a mysterious boy from the northwest coast, shows Mark that living by his own rules may be harder than he ever imagined. Mark is challenged to free himself from the influence of others, but at a price he might not be willing to pay. Can Mark find some meaning in life by pursuing these ghostly images? Or can his mysterious friend help free him from their terrifying grasp? One way or the other, Mark will learn that neither life or its lessons are temporary, and the end is only the beginning.
