About the Author

Vinton Huffey and his late wife Lillian, to use Tom Brokaw’s words, were part of “The Greatest Generation.” They and their kind were the builders of the Assemblies of God – demonstrating great hearts for the Lord, fervency to fulfill the Great Commission, and willingness to take the place of a servant in small places and to pioneer and blaze the trail. We are standing, as a Movement, on the shoulders of the Huffeys and their compatriots. Even with the loss of his dear wife, Lillian, Vinton Huffey – despite infirmities, advanced age, and physical struggles – maintains a heart of passion for the lost in the inner cities of America. And, his astute real estate investments made while receiving a miniscule minister’s salary have been dedicated to building the work of the Lord in the inner cities until Jesus comes. - Dr. George O.
