About the Book

Dark Reflections is a collection of poems by a survivor of child sexual abuse. It reflects the dark side survivors feel during the healing process. Not all survivors go through the same process or share the same feelings. This is a small glimpse into the mind of a survivor and her struggle with the demons that haunt her. The poems are short and to the point, yet hauntingly realistic. The author shares her feelings and insights through her poems. She speaks of delicate subjects such as suicide and death. She talks of the child within and touches on her past relationships and her feelings regarding both. It is a heartfelt collection that describes her pain and feelings that she has experienced during her healing journey.

About the Author

Joanne is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder in 2001. She resides in a small town in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania with her 3 sons, 3 dogs and 3 cats. She is a practicing Registered Nurse since 1999.
