About the Book

Divorce, although far more common and more socially accepted than in our recent past, is never positive or pleasant. A divorce represents a broken relationship, a failure of hopes and dreams. Where children are involved, it’s even more devastating, as it invariably involves a tearing apart of a basic family structure. Divorces cause havoc, and if they turn nasty, the scars can last a lifetime. The primary purpose of this guide is to help you develop a 'kinder and gentler' mindset that will help you and your family get through this emotionally crucial time, assist you in navigating the necessary legal proceedings, and provide you with some alternate tools and methodology to save you money and preserve your sanity , your dignity, and your family! Opt for a 'kinder and gentler' divorce.

About the Author

As a practicing attorney since 1970, Mike describes himself as a “reluctant expert” in the areas of divorce and child custody. He attributes his ‘expertise’ to over 35 years ‘in the trenches’ with his active law practice. As to the ‘reluctant’ portion, Mike feels his own unique personal experiences as a parent and as a ‘client’ in three divorce proceedings, each involving one of his three children and three separate parenting relationships, from full custody, to shared custody, to visitation only have provided a ‘both sides of the fence’ insight and he attributes the fusing of these experiences to the perspective he has brought to ‘the kinder and gentler divorce guide Mike offers his ‘expertise’ to any and all who may derive benefit from his unique experiences practicing law and raising children, to find a more civilized way to divorce, indeed a kinder and gentler way.
