About the Book

As high school comes to a close for senior Janelle Bonnet, the young woman finds herself in a personal struggle as well as a battle with the mass of the student body. After forming a friendship with the young and handsome health teacher, Logan Rodd, things begin to unravel. Feelings are developed. Things happen. People talk. Someone’s job is at a loss. Janelle loses her first love. All occurring within six months, Janelle’s last days within high school are hectic and rather surreal. Through the story of Janelle’s life, philosophical theories such as Marxism, Existentialism, Psychoanalysis, and Chaos are conveyed in an explicit, yet powerful way. Emphasizing the Chaos Theory, A Butterfly’s Bereavement provides numerous examples of how people affect one another.
