About the Book

The story of Mike and Ryan is a familiar, but unusual story as of two boys who grow up together and become so different. They both mature and as we all do, carry with them, many secrets. There are no perfect humans when appetites are enticed, things happen. So, “For the grace of God, go I.” Many readers may see themselves. The story is written about two men, but probably women will most relate to these adventures. There are a few sexual pursuits in this story, but of course, humans have many more. You will see that we can be driven to make “things right,” and of course, we make them wrong. You will also find some politically incorrect sections in the story. It is a completely fictional work with some real life events thrown in to remind you of where we are in the US. I am going to continue writing with these protagonists and agonists as I later continue their story; although it is difficult to see which is which, as my view on life is that there are no perfect humans, and even the imperfect ones have some good qualities.

About the Author

I am a first time author. I have written essays and poetry. Even in high school, I made up my book reports. I hated to read boring books and would rather write my stories then read them. My senior year in high school, I made my theses on astroglioma (a brain tumor). Maybe, this was signs of things to come? I became a nurse. I married and raised two sons. I am a widow, and I have three grandsons. I have continued working part time as a nurse. I guess you figured the medical thing was in there somewhere? I have been a nurse 50 years! When I was in my later years, I went back to school. First, I had to go back to junior college. Then, I went on to UTD (University of Texas at Dallas), for Bachelor of Arts. I majored in psychology and minored in sociology). Then, on to obtain a Masters at UNT (University of North Texas) with a Masters in Education ( in psychology). I didn’t finish my internship due to caring for my mother. So, I never became a therapist, I’m still an RN. I continue to work 20 hours a week at a state regulated program for mentally retarded and mentally ill clients. I am a Roman Catholic convert.
