About the Book
Shampale Fenessa Williams is a young poet with a gift that has the power to mesmerize and inspire the young and the old. Her poetry is lyrical, unique and courageous. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Williams began writing poetry when she moved to Orlando, Florida and realized that she had a voice that needed to be heard. She is a senior mass communication major at Voorhees College where she reigns as Miss Voorhees College for the 2009-2010 academic school year. Williams is the fi rst place winner of the 2009 United Negro College Fund (UNCF) Pre Alumni talent show. Her poetry has a strong message covering love, political and social issues. She has been described as a combination of Nikki Giovanni, Jessica Care Moore and Jill Scott. Her magnetic personality easily draws the attention of others. Her spoken word sounds like the blues and is sure to hypnotize any audience. She is currently writing her second book Ain’t I A Woman, she lives in Atlanta.
