About the Author

Winston Taylor combines his professional experiences in social work of more than sixteen years in the Child Protective Services and over twenty years in community organization and volunteer services (working with the imprisoned, homeless, mentoring programs, and communities of faith) aiming to help people help themselves and build bridges to happier and healthier communities. In 2009, Mr. Taylor received the Bethune Legacy Award from the National Council of Negro Women Inc. for outstanding contributions in furthering the traditions and legacy of Mary McLeod Bethune. Taylor holds a master of social work degree from the University of Connecticut and a BS degree in office systems management from Alabama A&M University. He also studied at the Hartford Seminary and is a consultant and motivational speaker.
