About the Author

Pierre Jovan Wood was born in Elizabeth City, NC on August 29, 1980, to Geraldine Wood and William Hedgebeth. He is the youngest of two (via is mother) and the youngest of five (via his father.) He graduated from Elizabeth City State University in May of 2002 with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, and is receiving his Masters in Psychology from National-Louis University. He has been a teacher for the D.C. Public Schools, a mentor, and a mental health counselor. Pierre is married to Marie Wood, a premier makeup artist, and is the father of two boys; Jovan Wood (with Marie) and Derrick McClendon (from a previous relationship.) He also is the proud stepfather to CJ Stovall and Leeanna Nelson. Moments of Clarity: A Conversation with the World is Pierre’s first book. This book is simply a collection of opinions from an average person that has experienced some things in his life, and has also made his share of mistakes and bad decisions. It talks about everything from politics and religion to music and sex. He addresses a lot of the current issues that are in the world today, and people may find his honesty refreshing.
