About the Book

Two brothers, approaching old, but spry and still crazy for life, recollect true stories about people, places and events from their shared happy past; while sailing a diminutive, sentient, black and crème sloop named LARKE down the blue-collar Delaware River, through the C&D Canal, south down the Chesapeake Bay and up the Northeast Branch of Harris Creek; accompanied by a bemused, rescued djinnayah offering up the usual three wishes and wry observations regarding humans and the internet; avoiding the wakes of much larger vessels and outsized winds and waves; past a benign, sheltering sea-monster ; and cheerfully arriving at metaphysical destinations that often include fish.

About the Author

Hugh MacMullan was a Marine Corps officer and business executive and is, as always, a father of six and a fisherman. He drifts off to sleep nights in Swarthmore, PA, next to Julie, his wife of thirty-three years, imagining how he might land an 80 pound striper from his sailboat - LARKE – anchored somewhere in the Delaware River, alone and at night. The writing of “Larke, El Capitan and the Theory of Everything” allowed him the pleasure of recollecting a magical sailing trip with his brother, Jack, a.k.a. El Capitan, as well as true stories from the past.
