About the Book

Give Me February: A Collection of Poems includes an array of poetry from romantic to pastoral and comical to spiritual. This is Rebecca Brooks’ first published book. Each piece reflects a part of the human condition. Many explore our connection with nature and how loss can give us hope. Topics addressed in this book include our relationship with the natural world, loss of a child, and autism, to name a few. The works herein challenge our beliefs and morals as a society and at the same time offer resolution to our uncertainties.

About the Author

Rebecca Brooks has been writing poetry since she was introduced to it by her eighth grade teacher in 1988. Rebecca is currently a substitute teacher and enjoys volunteering at her children’s school whenever she gets the chance. Her children and family are major influences in her writing. Rebecca believes we all have an innate connection to nature and tries to explore that relationship in her poetry. She is the youngest and only girl of four. She loves to read, hike and scrapbook in her spare time. She is a strong advocate for animal rights, conservation and autism. Rebecca lives in Maine with her family.
