About the Book
“Wonderfully clever”, “humorous”, “original”, “entertaining”,
“delightful......”
These are just a few of the accolades offered by Amazon reviewers for
John Foster’s work. The poems in Chuckles, Foster’s second collection,
showcase the award-winning poet’s unique sense of humor. Selected
for their wit, whimsy and humorous wordplay, these poems have
delighted Foster’s audiences, young and old, at readings throughout
west central Florida. Ranging from limericks to comic higgledy-piggledies,
Foster probes at the funny bone of human nature, aiming on
each page to bring a smile or a chuckle. As an aid to the reader, there
are poetry reference pages which explain the variety of verse forms
used in the book. An additional feature in this volume is a “Poet’s
comment” offered for each poem presented.
