I fortuitously came across this book. A very straight forward, easy to read and fluently written. It is a diary of the various locations Michael lived, the people he met, the career paths he pursued and his involvement with the Pan American Fencing Association during Olympic years. I have an inkling that I met him once many years ago when my father took me to meet his "cousin from America". I was especially interested in the various chapters, pages and photos describing his connections to Alexandria (Egypt), Greece and Monte Carlo where several of my family and cousins (inter-alia Michael's cousins) lived. I learnt so much more about his side of the family which is related to my side of the family through our grandmothers. Several photos actually show my ancestor and my aunties and cousins. Very educational (for some) and I related to him as an "Alexandrian" as we were blessed with a good education, the capability of speaking fluently in four, five (or more) languages.
