About the Book
TIME TO CRIME is the author Michael Lee´s 1st book. It is an account of his time spent inside his city´s county jail.While there he would listen to stories of how various inmates became incarcerated. In telling his story, he also tells of the injustice some suffer,some who are innocent,like himself, but are being held as guilty before their trails.This is part one, look for the sequel soon.
About the Author
Michael Lee was born on January 10, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the youngest of the 3 boys out of 6 siblings. He grew up in a single parent home, ran by his mom in an apartment located in Cabrini- Green housing projects. He attended Lincoln Park H.S. When he was about 19 years of age, his mom moved the family out of the projects. At the age of 22, he moved out. On January 14, 1991, he was involved in a serious car accident where he fractured his C 6 section of the spinal cord and for 2 months left him partly paralyzed. He worked jobs that never gave him fulfillment. Here he found out he had a talent for coming up with interesting stories and wanted to pursue it. On November 3, 2008, he had a life changing experience. He would get into an altercation with the Chicago police, which would lead to his arrest and incarceration for 3 months in the Cook County Jail. During his time awaiting his trail, he would become a changed man. He would strengthen the faith and learn about the nature of criminals, about the inter workings of the judicial system and about himself. He beat his case on August 24th, 2009, 7 months after his release on bond. Afterwards, writing is what he wanted to do now. Time To Crime: Doing Time, Listen To Crime, is his first attempt at writing and he prays it’s not his last.
