About the Book
Poetry is my therapy. When I have difficulty figuring out what I think, feel the need to make a statement, or simply need to purge some emotion…I write. I write to exercise my brain. Mr. Winters, wherever you are, thank you for introducing me to a thesaurus in 9th grade English. I’ve been a single parent (before and after), married and divorced, and now have my best friend and resident pain in the ass. I love you Dave. I have three amazing children, Tristan, Casey and Ayla. I love you all so much. I have a brand new granddaughter, my first! Welcome to the world, Jenny Lynn Key. I have seven full siblings, and Mom. To borrow a line from some famous person – my family puts the FUN in dysFUNctional! I love you guys! I’ve made money doing personal care, agriculture, ranching, cosmetology, firefighting and all phases of food service, including prison cook! I held field trips for local daycares and kindergarteners. One class saw a lamb birthed. I tutored first grade reading, art teacher assistant, helped out in many classrooms, PTA, 4-H, Sunday school, committees and council.
About the Author
I’ve enjoyed a wonderful variety of experiences throughout my life, and many have found their way into my poetry. If variety is truly the spice of life, I am saffron. Priceless, not expensive! Known for its strong coloring power, intense flavor and aroma, and therapeutic properties, it’s used only sparingly being considered the world’s most precious spice. Liminality is a psychological, neurological, or metaphysical subjective state, conscious or unconscious, of being on the "threshold" of or between two different existential planes. Here I offer you a view from my threshold.
