About the Book

Angelina Williams Hopkins was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia. The 4th of 6 children, she attended Norfolk Public Schools. She later attended the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Va. Tech) and earned a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in 2001. She was a high school teacher, assistant principal and high school principal. Dr. Hopkins later worked as Supervisor for Minority Achievement and Senior Director for Multicultural Services in a school division on the Upper Peninsula. In 2010, Dr. Hopkins founded SRPD, LLC. In her fi rst book, “What If Angie Don’t Like Cabbage?: Triumphing from Foster Care to Adulthood” (2010), Dr. Angelina W. Hopkins shares her life’s story as a foster child. Dr. Angelina W. Hopkins is a wife and mother of three young adult children.


About the Author

Angelina Williams Hopkins was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia. The 4th of 6 children, she attended Norfolk Public Schools. Upon graduating from Lake Taylor High School, Angelina matriculated at Norfolk State University and earned the B.A. and MA.Ed., degrees in Business Education and School Administration respectively. She also attended the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Va. Tech) and earned a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in December, 2001. Dr. Hopkins was a high school teacher and assistant principal for Portsmouth Public Schools until 2001. In 2002, she continued her career in school administration with the Richmond Public Schools. In August, 2005, Dr. Hopkins began work with the Williamsburg James City County Public Schools (W-JCC) as the Supervisor for Minority Achievement. She completed 7 years of research and leadership in Multicultural Education with W-JCC Public Schools in 2012. In her first book, “What If Angie Don’t Like Cabbage?: Triumphing from Foster Care to Adulthood” (2010), Dr. Angelina W. Hopkins shares her life’s story as a foster child. Dr. Angelina W. Hopkins is a wife and mother of three young adult children.
