About the Book

Emma Hutson, seeking a brief escape from a lengthy and bitter divorce, leaves New York for a rented villa on the southwest coast of Jamaica. She is accompanied by her six year-old son and a sympathetic older sister. The island setting seems idyllic until several heart-stopping incidents threaten Emma’s life. To her surprise, she discovers that her attorney husband is working for a New York drug cartel with Jamaica connections. The cartel, fearing she “knows too much,” is plotting to have her killed. Afraid for her life and the safety of her child, Emma appeals to a local police detective for help. At first, he suspects she may be involved in the cartel, but as their relationship deepens, they become romantically involved. In the face of increasing danger, they devise a unique, but risky scheme which, with a little luck and a lot of nerve, can save Emma’s life.

“The Wrong Side of the Island” is a first class round-trip thriller from the dangerous streets of New York to the exotic beaches of Jamaica. The characters are so well drawn that they keep the pages turning and the reading lights on late at night.”
