About the Book

About the Author

Paula was in born in Harlem, New York in 1957. She and her sister lived with both parents until Paula was 12 years of age, which became the turning point in her life. Her Mother entered into an alternative lifestyle in the early 1970's and didn't take her children with her. Her Father was supposed to be the pri¬mary caretaker, but also failed. Paula and her sister were inappropriately touched by men simply because there was no trusting voice to hear their cries. She and her Sister discovered that Education was going to be their ticket out of their mis¬ery. Her Sister graduated High School and was getting ready to go away to college but was killed at age 18. However, Paula bought a trunk and left for college immediately after high school. She states that it kind of reminded her of the story of 5 Garbage Bags and a Dream. Paula has had several failed marriages and lost her firstborn Son during his first year of College. She is grateful for the opportunity to reconnect with both of her parents in her adult life. She was able to lead her Father back to Jesus by showing unconditional love and compassion. She lends her time and expertise to assist women who are in need in the State of Georgia and in other Countries. When Paula was asked the question, “What would you like as a Tribute for your 80th Birthday?” she responded in the following manner: “I have been in the Human Service field since 1988. I realized many years ago that we are on this earth to serve and to make a difference in the lives of others.” She has played the role of prayer warrior, wife, mother, social worker, mentor, advocate for women and has established a scholarship fund for disadvantaged.”
