About the Book

Lighted Pathways is book of poetry based on the scripture and verse Psalm 119:105. "Your word,Oh Lord, is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path."

Barbara Beck-Elam is a poet that brings the reader through the words with her. She wants to entertain, but with, the words chosen by Him. To tell stories that reflect how these inspirations have come through her life or walked by her side. Every step she has made, she believes, came from her blueprint from the Lord.

She has dedicated this book to her best friend, who has walked the "Lighted Pathways" with her.

Many people have friends, but my friend has been a source of spiritual inspiration to me. Sharing the written word across the miles has become a way to communicate through the heart as friends.

I have followed the path that God has led me to. This path, I have learned, has brought joy and light back into my life. It is a book of several catagories of poems. Ranging from "Poems for Peace" to " Poems of Surrender". These poems have their own individual inspirations. I have included "Poems for Friends and Others" and "Poems of Tribute for the Military". My writing has shown me where I have been and leads me to where I am going. God´s hand is in all that you will read.

About the Author

Barbara Beck-Elam was born 1959 in a small town that was richly filled with characters intertwined in her stories of adolescence. This town was supported by many churches and different religions that anchored this community.
