About the Book

It was a fateful day that my husband was called over to the neighbor’s woods to see and hear Bandit crying for her raccoon Mom. She had been abandoned and lay helplessly under some sticks and leaves on the ground. Whatever happened to her real mother, we’ll never know, but it was time for human parents to spring into action. Raccoon babies are born blind and deaf, but have an uncanny way of surviving. We were up to the challenge. We raised her and released her. She lives in the woods and returns most nights for food and human interaction. In “Bandit, a Raccoon Tail” we share our pictures and story of these special moments.
