Pastor Andre Thurmon Sr. Pastor Andre Thurmon Sr. is the founder of St. Mark International Christian Church of Chicago, Illinois. A true worshipper and anointed prayer warrior, Pastor Thurmon delivers powerful life principles through the Word of God. A native Chicagoan, Pastor Thurmon began his walk with Christ at New Greater Exodus under the leadership of Pastor John Whitehead, Sr. At the age of 12, he became a junior deacon and was ordained as a deacon at the age of 14. He began to evangelize all over the State of Illinois and was ordained a Preacher of the Gospel on October 12, 1991. He is currently an Executive Board Member and Chief Financial Officer of the Leaders Network of the Westside of Chicago and a member of the Father's House Ministry where Bishop Eddie L. Long is the presiding Bishop and Spiritual Father. He accepted his pastoral call in 2002 and established St. Mark M.B. Church. The ministry began with a congregation of 30 at the Holiday Inn Conference Center in downtown Chicago. God continued to bless the ministry, which now has over 900 members and numerous ministries of servant hood. As God began to move heavily upon Pastor Thurmon's heart, the name of the church was changed so that it effectively reflected the vision. St. Mark International Christian Church. A Kingdom-Minded Church with a Life-Changing Ministry. Pastor Thurmon has also given financial support to T. D. Jakes Ministries to help build wells in Africa, he helps to empower the community with health and financial seminars, he gives back to the community by providing food via SMICC Food Pantry, he provides activities for the youth, such as Youth Conference, Vacation Bible School, Boys and Girl Scouts, Scholarship programs, and a new Youth Center within the church. Pastor Thurmon balances his life and ministry as the dedicated husband of Wendy Thurmon and the proud father of two sons, Andre Jr. and Joshua.
