About the Author

About the Author The author was born in 1938 in the little farming community of Floyd, Arkansas, with the post office in Romance, Arkansas, where he was a resident in the home of his birth for over forty years. He was brought up by honest, compassionate parents during the difficult era of World War II. He was protected and guided by his older brother, Dale Turpin. Dale worked on the family farm until the government caused hardship for small-acreage farmers by allowing them to produce only smaller crops due to allotments. Dale took other jobs away from the farm and helped support the family. Both Dale and the author are musicians and have performed across the country. The author holds a PhD and a DD degree and has been a contributing writer for the Stone County Citizen News since 1994.
