My Dream

About the Book

This is it. My Dream allows children to step out of their daily routine into a whole new world of fun and excitement. It is designed to help children with readiness skills in both reading and mathematics. This knowledge expands through a variety colorful characters, rhyming words, and geometric shapes that they will encounter throughout the story. Pre-school children will broaden their vocabulary as they move from the familiar to the unfamiliar characters in the story. The book increases reading comprehension. It provides readers with the opportunity to identify many characters in the story and state the roles they play. They will understand cause and effect, and they learn to compare and contrast information. Young readers will distinguish the difference between their pets and animals that are there for entertainment. This story encourages children to explore another level of consciousness that is beyond their knowledge. Last, but not least, children will become aware of a power greater than their own. About the Author

The Author was born in Indianola, Mississippi. After completing elementary and secondary school, she married the late William Steward, Sr. In 1953, the couple relocated to Chicago, Illinois. They are the parent of seven children. The writer received an Associate in Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennedy-King College, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from De Paul University. She is a retired teacher from the Chicago Public Schools.
