About the Author

The author grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. She is married, has three grown sons, and currently resides in Aurora, Ohio with her husband. At 10 years of age, after suffering from Polio, she began figure skating for rehabilitation. This led to a fulfilling 35 years of personal skating accomplishments, and for the many competitive skaters she went on to coach in the Cleveland area. The magic of “fairies” filled her childhood, including seeking out a “fairy Godmother.” Their frequent visits filled the quiet hours, and allowed a wonderful escape to the world of fantasy. Art courses offered the opportunity to fulfill artistic creativity, and led to the writing and illustration of “Sunshine.” The theme of the story is to let all children know how important it is to keep dreaming, never give up trying, and realize that nothing is impossible.
