About the Book
1st Caution from Lali, Darrell, Hiro, Connie, Marvin and Beth: Our “peers” may find informative
language popping up in this awesome story about us – with way cool illustrations!
It all started when a bunch of research studies said we teens were so unhealthy that the administration
at Sun Valley Magnet High School freaked out and we had to take a Health Ed class. The fi rst thing
this “newbie” teacher with a bio-food-something-degree did was randomly group us together in
four teams, and then we each had to come up with a project that would get the whole student body
interested in this miserable subject.
Our team, who really didn’t get along, decided the best way to win this class supremacy contest was
to do a documentary of us trying to learn information that was, we thought, a shocking waste of time.
What happened to “T1”during the fi lming of what the class called the “T-loser-film” was a very big
surprise to all of us!
2nd CAUTION from us: Shape Up or bite me! could cause some health-challenged students to
reboot their operating systems.
About the Author
Author Judy Eberhardt lives on the Peninsula in Long Beach, California with her husband Charlie. Her first novel, Shape Up Or Bite Me, was inspired by a teen relative who struggled with weight issues before discovering how to eat healthily. Having once worked for animators Hanna-Barbera, and being involved with script development in the entertainment business in Los Angeles for many years, Judy naturally took this inspiration and turned it into an entertaining and funny story that teaches kids some valuable health lessons along the way.
