About the Author

Marilyn Bloodworth grew up in New York City, the Bronx and Brooklyn. She learned early on of the harshness that can accompany life. She has always been a wonderful story teller. She came up with the idea for this book. Some of it is factual; most of it is not but there are bits and pieces of Marilyn’s own life threaded throughout the pages. The purpose of this book is to be a support to those who have gone through the trials like those of the main character, Shantea. With determination and courage, everyone can escape from perilous situations and go on to thrive. Those who are born and raised within the inner cities across the country know that they were born into a war zone. These are the people Marilyn wishes to reach with her words of inspiration.
