About the Author
I was born at Kokomo, Indiana, as an Amish child. When I was twenty-one I left home for an education. I spent three years at a Mennonite collage in Virginia, then two years at Hesston Collage in Kansas working off my High School and the second year collage (as an Amish child I was taken out of school when I turned sixteen) After working a semester I came to Goshen collage and finished a B.A. in Bible and history. Immediately out of collage I worked at a small denominational publisher as assistant to the editor. He published almost everything I wrote mostly poetry. Two years later I married an East Indian man, spent five years in Puerto Rico at a children’s home, We returned home. The next ten years I spent raising my three girls and a son. We moved to Iowa in 1968 and I worked for the state of Iowa in Social Services for twelve and one-half years. In 1980 I started making porcelain dolls. From then until 2007 I made and sold more than 1000 dolls. My time since then has been given to my writing interest.
