About the Author

Samuel Lee Digby has worked in law enforcement for over 10 years. In his time as a law enforcement officer, he has had the opportunity to teach and mentor thousands of students. He is bothered by the number of young people especially black males that are choosing lives with not many opportunities as opposed to a life filled with options. He has tried to use the gift that God has given him to reach out and touch the lives of inner city youths that would otherwise fall through the cracks. His area of concern is the image and the legacy that men are setting for their children especially the black male. His goal is to inspire, motivate, and expand the minds of the young and old so that our young people are given a fighting chance to be productive members of society. Samuel Lee Digby believes that if men are not willing to step up to the plate to be real men and fathers, than the drugs dealers and gang bangers will. There is a crisis in the United States and Digby is calling on all the parents, teachers, mentors, or anyone who has direct contact with young people to get involved before we lose an entire generation of young people to senseless acts of violence and incarceration. Samuel Lee Digby has a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice from Tennessee State University (1998); and a Master Degree of Public Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington.
