My Father's Story

About the Book

A father (Tom) hears his son Richard say, “School is OK except I don’t like learning numbers or arithmetic.” After dinner, Tom sits with Richard and tells him a story of a kingdom long ago where the use of numbers is forbidden by King Kcaj and of the chaos that ensues because of it. As Tom’s story unfolds, he hopes to instill in Richard a sense of the importance of learning numbers, counting, and arithmetic along with other life lessons.

About the Author

Tom Norton lives in Howell Michigan with his wife of 41 years, he and Darlene spend their winters at a RV resort in Casa Grande, AZ. They have three children and eight grandchildren. After High School Tom served his country in the U.S. Navy and started work at Ford Motor Company shortly after discharge. While at Ford Tom went back to school and received his B.A. degree in math from Albany State University. He also went through the Ford apprenticeship and is a journeyman machinist. Tom retired from Ford in 2000, he enjoys playing golf and woodworking.
