About the Book

I was born in Ottumwa, Iowa and raised in the small town of Hedrick. I grew up helping my dad on our farm. I was married in 1974 to my lovely wife Dee. We have three great boys who are grown up and making their own way through life now. They have provided us with six lively grandchildren. It was originally for them that I decided to write this book. I had gotten the idea for Blue Bear a year ago. But never had time to write it while pursuing my career as a truck driver. About a year ago, I had an accident that left me laid up off my feet for four months. It was during that time that I finally got around to putting my story down on paper. I hope everyone enjoys reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
