About the Book

THE SHIMMERS (Not Your Typical Schools Of Fish) - In 1947 A young Martin Rian like anyone moving away from friends, family, and the city he has lived in at the home he has lived in for his whole 9 years of life in Chicago; he is unsure what adventures his new home will have in store. After moving away to a small city in rural Illinois, because his father wants to open another family owned store; Martin comes to understand his father. While exploring his new home Martin gives a new meaning to “fish story” and finds himself a group of wet friends that opens his eyes to a magical world.

About the Author

Lorie Strow is a new author… she began her love of writing at a young age writing captions of pictures she drew. She is an avid reader and likes to write stories in her spare time. She hopes to continue writing fun yet adventurous children’s books of THE SHIMMERS and other cast’s of characters. This is Lorie’s first children’s book.
