Dust Blowing Area Ahead

About the Book

When Maggie the Magpie returned home, she noticed a strange sign along the highway. It read "DUST BLOWING AREA AHEAD". Well, she'd never heard of Dust blowing, but would like to hear it. Unfortunately her efforts were interrupted by Wally the Wind, who explained to her what the real meaning of the sign was. Toen Maggie de Ekster naar huis ging, zag ze een vreemd bord langs de weg. Er stond "UITKIJKEN: STOF BLAZEND GEBIED" op. Nu had ze nog nooit Stof horen blazen , maar zou dat best willen horen. Helaas werden haar pogingen gestoord door Wally de Wind, die aan haar uitlegde wat het bord eigenlijk betekende.

About the Author

I was born in Indonesia at the onset of WWll and grew up in the Netherlands. With my husband and three children I moved to Canada via New Zealand where our youngest was born. Originally, I wrote this bilingual story originally for my grandchildren, who either speak Dutch or English. I currently live in BC. Ik was in Indonesie aan het begin van de WWll geboren en groeide in Nederland op. Met mijn man en drie kinderen verhuisde ik naar Canada via New Zealand waar onze jongste was geboren. Ik schreef dit tweetalig verhaaltje aanvankelijk voor mijn kleinkinderen, die Hollands of Engels spreken. Ik woon nu in BC.
