About the Book

What is true friendship? What decisions do each of us make that cause friendship to grow, or to wither and die? This is the story of one man in search of answers and the risks he takes to find them. Will he lose the joy that only a bond with nature can bring? Will the cardinal lose her life to bring him the answer? Search these pages for answers to these questions and to witness the wonderful glimpse into the world of nature. Even though everyone describes this as a children's book, this story was born of a friendship between two adults who find that time and life puts them on a road in which they can no longer enjoy each other again, perhaps for the rest of their lives. It is my hope that, in these pages, adults as well as children can find answers to the true meaning of friendship and the gentle joys it brings to all that are willing to embrace it rightly.

About the Author

Kathy Wilmes lives in West Concord, MN with her husband Michael. She has three grown children, Sarah who is married to Wally, Rachel, and Sam, and a three-year-old grandson Elliot. In addition to working in health care, she occasionally writes for local publications. This is her first published book.
