About the Book
Are you a thief? No? What if there was money? Lots of it. Stolen cash, loot, you get the idea…but lost by the thieves who stole it in the first place, the real thieves, the ones with the firearms. There it is, right there in front of you. Would it make you…wonder? It sure makes Steve Hornby wonder. A once-was librarian now trying to make ends meet as a security guard, he’s the misfit on the security crew – and he’s the guy on the spot when it all happens. Nerd, cynic, and despondent coward, he’s not the man for this Thief capper. Or is he? After a lifetime of consummate failure, Steve’s perfected the fine art of the sincere untruth, the insincere apology, and the dodgy silence. Then again, committing a crime is one thing – getting away with it is much more dangerous. Thieves – a comedy of crime and conscience. And cash.
About the Author
Piers Hobson is a very experienced writer. He has written and script edited TV shows including Neighbours, Blue Heelers, The Saddle Club, Marshall Law, and many others. He was also a successful advertising writer. Hobson’s writing is entertaining. You will know a Piers Hobson story by its engaging style, its endearingly neurotic characters (he has an obvious love for the nutty people he creates) and, above all, for its humour. ‘Funny’ is his trademark. Thieves is his debut novel.
