“What is it you want from me, Juanita?” Jerry asked as if to fill in the silence. “I have shown you how much I respect you in every way I know how. It goes right over your head.” He looked confused and shifted restlessly. “You are so much more than the slight difference in your shoulders. I’m happy when I enter your front door. I smell candles burning and food cooking, I feel like I’m in heaven.” With an all-encompassing wave of his hand he included, “I’m wrapped in luxury when I’m with you.” Then he choked up. “You are a blossom! I’m a clod by comparison. I’m twice your size, yet all I hear from you are questions like, ‘what will your relatives or friends think?’ Well, I can’t control what people think. You are putting me in the same category with Boyd.

About the Author

I’m a Texan transplanted to California and a mother of three, grandmother of five, and great-grandmother of three at the last count. I have been blessed in life. I attended many colleges and adult schools, getting an assortment of certifications and licenses. A jack-of-all-trades is what I call myself. My children and I enjoyed raising horses and figs, but we’ve all come a long way since then. I am published (a few years ago) in True Love Magazine. I wrote a one-pager, “The Life I Live.” Woman’s World features me along with my photograph and many others. However, this is my second novella. I wrote A Little Ole’ Boll Weevil Just Lookin’ for a Home, currently being sold by Xlibris, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble, along with many of your favorite bookstores. I enjoyed writing these stories and hope you enjoy reading them.
