About the Book

The Traditional Government is not bound by any laws passed by any other policy but their own traditional values, beliefs, bylaws, and customs rooted from their own people. They are a stable community of people with a territory, history, culture, and a common language, united under a single government. It is a type of government handed down from generation to generation. I am writing this as a documentary and history of the Elders of Manokotak, their meetings, resolutions , compacts, etc. , including the history of the deception, interferences, the procedure used by different entities, within the local (village or city) , regional, or later by BIA, DOT funds—or how local developments were diverted to regional / subservient entities.

About the Author

Eleanor Rose Moore was born in Igushik aka EUC. (Alaska) a fish camp to Sassa Coopchiak Moore ofAsvigyak, and Evon John Moore of Quinigak, Alaska. She isthe grandchild of Makiutsilik Andrew Coopchiak andNanurak (last name unknown) Evon J. Moore, died at Togiak while fishing.She was raised in Nasaugluk till first grade, andthen moved to Manokotak, Alaska. She moved toDillingham in fourth grade, went to Palmer VictoryHigh School in 1979, went to Mt. Edgecumbe in 1980,and graduated in Manokotak, 1981. She went to Hawaii Pacific College in 1986,went to University of Hawaii at Hilo in 1987, and moved back to Bristol Bay in 1990.She started working with Elders Traditional Tribal council in late eighties, sentfederal documents to Washington, District of Columbia, in 1992 and in April,President Clinton signed a “recognition” signature in November of 1992 .
