About the Book

This book is based on an oral story told from generation to generation; the story was passed from four generations. I remembered about fifteen years ago when my daddy told me the story of Aroge (the journey unknown). The story exists between the Ile-ifes, the Akokos, and the Benins. A beautiful princess was born to a powerful king in Ile-ife, and the princess grew in humility and wisdom, loved by all the villagers. She loved going to the farm and having adventurous moments. When Princess Aroge got to the age of eighteen years, she was set to a journey unknown.

About the Author

Adeyemi Ogunyomade, informally known as Yemmy Made, was born in the Surulere area of Lagos in the early 1980s, into the royal family of the late Prince Yunisa A. Ogunyomade and his wife, F. A. Ogunyomade. Yemmy Made grew up in a large household full of the members of her extended family. She is the youngest among her siblings. “Dad and Mom always gave the older ones more attention because they believed the older ones would someday take care of the younger ones,” she remembers. “Nevertheless, Daddy always tried to make as much time for little me as possible. ‘My little princess,’ he often called me. So yes, you’re free to call me Daddy’s little girl. He always had a story or two to tell me, and my little mind was full of wonder at all these beautiful tall tales. He taught us the principles of life as persons of royal blood and imparted so many values that later helped shape my adult life.” Yemmy Made is the girl next door—down to earth, humble, extremely shy, and with a modest lifestyle. “I got creativity genes from my dad. He was a skilled screen printer and professional photographer, and I find that the arts and crafts are my calling.” Right now, Yemmy Made is a full-time mother and the CEO of Yemmy Made Trading LLC and Yemmy Made Accessories. She is looking forward to reinventing herself in the writing field.
