At eleven years of age Lily Heaths’ family are involved in a tragic car accident. As sole survivor, Lily is fostered to a distant Godfather; Edmond Silverwood, and sent to live on an isolated ranch.

Traumatised and uncommunicative, over time Lily reinvents herself and relinquishes all ties with her former life.

Following a chance encounter on the eve of her 21st birthday, the past resolves to catch up with her. What begins as a vague recollection turns into a journey of self-discovery when Lily’s feelings for Edmond’s son, Lucas threaten to unravel her carefully constructed identity.

As obsession takes hold, Lily’s life begins to derail. Plagued by reoccurring nightmares and driven by intuition she sets out to uncover what occurred on a stretch of road a decade earlier. A quest that ultimately brings her face to face with the only other person who survived.

About the Author

B T Burridge has qualifications in social work, psychology and rehabilitation and has worked in the health and disability sector for most her working life.

Born in New Zealand, she has travelled and worked overseas. She currently resides in New Zealand with her partner. Silver Wood is her first novel.

I was gripped by this story from the moment I started reading it and didn't lose momentum throughout the whole book. I thought Lilly's story showed great insight into the way she coped with her life events and really enjoyed the romantic interplay between her and Lucas and all the entanglements through her emotional struggles. I look forward to the movie!
