About the Book

I had a love of writing poems since I was writing poems in my English classes in high school, attending North High in Phoenix, Arizona. But these poems are the inspiration of the islands and the people that build up their counties every day and in God, our Lord and Savior, we trust. A special thanks to one of my heroes—Mrs. Julicia Hilaire-Jackson.

About the Author

I was born on the beautiful island of Saint Thomas in the Paradise Isles of the Virgin Islands to Jean Larmony, who was my strength and armor, and Audrey Morton. I have two sisters, Au’d and Cherise. We grew up together in a little part of St. Thomas called Frenchtown in Demrara. When I turned twelve, my mom, sisters, and I moved to Silver Springs, Maryland. By my teens, we had moved to Phoenix, Arizona. I attended North High School, and during the summers, I would have odd jobs in the city. I fell in love with reading books in high school and working at the Century Branch Library in Phoenix. After graduating, I attended Phoenix Community College. After my time in Arizona, I decided to move back to the Virgin Islands. Since returning home to the Virgin Islands, I decided to take a leap of faith and publish some of my writings. Some of my favorite authors are John Saul, Steven King, and Maya Angelou. My love for writing started when I was in high school. These poems are a result of the inspiration of the Virgin Islands and the people that build me up. They reflect my trust in God. I would like to give a special thank you to my dear friend, Julicia Jackson Hilaire.
